Our 2024 SEASON:

FEBRUARY 18th 2024 5pm (New) Mr. Black, Culture, Art, & Talent, San Diego Contest. A night of edutainment, dancing, dinner, a unique fashion show & live band event for recruiting and choosing healthy, active, fit, community role models and challenging them, in using their culture, artistry and talent to promote leadership in affirmation of humanity through demonstrating Black love, self care, promoting positive development of our minds, bodies and spirit. Boldly working as a servant leader to collectively and creatively help restore our people back to their true potential and greatness. The winner receives the title and recognition of Mr. Black San Diego 2024, a paid campaign using culture, art and talent to promote being healthy, active and fit, he will receive a trophy, $1500 Cash award, gifts and other prizes. APRIL 3rd starting date 4:30pm every Work Out Wednesdays weather permitting Healthy, Active, Fit Workout & Wellness Wednesdays (Group Walking, Sharing Nutrition Health Information & Resources, Exercise & fitness leadership)

MAY 24th - 26th 32nd Annual (3) Day 32nd Annual Kuumba Fest celebration themed Black II Restoration” & Dance Conference. Three days of positive images, healthy challenges and rejuvenation for the mind, body and spirit through art, culture and edutainment.

5/24/2024 Friday is the “Night of Positive Images” with pageantry of ancient African history coming to life before our eyes through the Parade of the Ancestors from ancient Kemet to Orishas and a dynamic keynote speaker. There is an opening afternoon luncheon with speakers and workshops for the Dance Conference.

5/25/2024 Saturday is the “Day of Positive Challenges” opening of the African Market place with creative and exotic vendors, information booths, the Decoration Day speaker and skit, youth play, panel discussion, conference choreographers showcase on the dance floor, dj and dancing and finale event “Live In The Park” with musical genius Kevin Flournoy showcasing new and up and coming musical guest and more.

5/26/2026 Sunday is the “Day of Rejuvenation” and it is in two parts Part #1 reopening of the African Market place, Reggae band, panel discussions, international praise dance showcase of local and visiting groups, and finale hand clapping foot stomping to God be the glory concert in the park. Intermission Part #2 Open invitation for traditional West African dance & drumming finale including Samoan, Cuban, S. American, Caribbean, West Indies and African symbolizing unity of diversity and commonalities through honoring and sharing traditional cultural practices, while creating new ones.

JULY 27th “Healing Heroes” Healthy Black Community and Military Families Block Party in the Park of cultural healing testimonials, creative group mentoring resources in a black supportive family atmosphere of love and empathy through togetherness, music, dancing , food and positive recreational and social interaction on common ground.

AUGUST 31st 17th Annual Project FATE Fashion Art Talent “FAT Extravaganza” is a creative fusion of fashion, art and talent all at the same time in a entertainment showcase of art and enterprise. Focus is better understanding and opportunities in wellness and mental health.

SEPTEMBER 28th “6th Annual Black Family Empowerment Day” with panel discussions, workshops, extensive resources, DJ music, dancing, food, vendors, live music and togetherness in Black community love, in our own NEIGHBORhood continuing our the restoration back to greatness and preparing for the future, well grounded in our deeper traditional roots.
